From intention to reality through design thinking
Problem
This project started before Amager Strand was constructed. How to communicate about a place which is not there yet? The project management needed a strategy that could frame the intentions and interpret them into a language that pointed at results and tactile solutions.
Solution
Creating common ground and shared language in the project helped management align the expectations, development and results between the team, stakeholders and consultants. Forming a strategy that pointed out how intentions could become reality was the means to achieve the goal. The project manager used the strategy as an active and dynamic tool throughout the project – until the new beach stood ready for use.
Result
Strategic design as a management tool contributed to both the communication and realization of this large construction project.
